About

Manifesto

We love nature, the outdoors and the simple existence they both provide. The outdoors are pure and free of political and materialistic influences. Furthermore, the stress and anxiety of our current lives melt away with an ever-present and engaged, albeit quiet discourse with nature.

Our aim for this blog is to help deepen society’s connection with the outdoors.  We also want to promote the companies and products which we use, and believe to be some of the best in market, but more importantly reliable. We hope you enjoy and contribute to this blog. All articles posted here were created with the intent of informing fellow like-minded outdoor enthusiasts, so feel free to share your own opinions and thoughts.

Who We Are

Chris “Six Slash” Schlack

Soaking in the positivity from Mount Katahdin

A Pennsylvania native who has spent his entire life exploring the North East and the wonderful outdoor adventures it has to offer. Always striving to be more self-reliant and sustainable helps drive his passion for the outdoors, organics, DIY/preparedness skills and an overall conscious life. In addition to escaping to the woods as much as possible, the culmination of his recent hiking adventures was a 2014  thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail.  Along the way he was able to fully test his and other’s hiking gear and learn what worked and what didn’t.  If anyone has any interest in completing a thru-hike, section hike or just have some general questions you want to ask, don’t hesitate to email him at chris@unpackadventure.com . He currently works full-time in NYC but always tries to make time at night for this passion of his. Colorado is the next step for Chris where he hopes to be able to explore the endless adventures that CO and the other surrounding states have to offer; mainly a thru-hike of the Continental Divide Trail “CDT”!
